October Unit: Fall, Harvest and Safar (Part 2)
Following are a list of printables and crafts that can be used for this unit. We did not do all of them, however, I did get inspired by some of these and did ones that interested B the most.
Printables
Crafts
Apple crafts
- Apple counting with salt
- Make one of the following apples crafts:
- Bake mini apple crossants with kids.
Pumpkin crafts
- Remove pumpkin seeds from the flesh, and roast them
- Paint pumpkin styrofoam (got these from dollarama)
- Colour your pumpkin (wooden pieces from dollarama)
Fall crafts
- Paint your pinecone – we did not find any big pinecones in our park close by so we skipped this craft.
- Leaf printing – place a leaf beneath plain paper. Take a pencil and colour over the leaf, and notice the beautiful veins of the leaf appear on paper.
- Rainbow leaf painting
- Paint your acorns/make owls out of acorn using googly eyes and modelling clay – my friend Javeria from @nurturingemaan shared this idea from the book 10 minute seasonal crafts for autumn by Annals Lim
- Make a fall leaf bonfire using twigs and fall leaves of different colours – my friend Javeria from @nurturingemaan shared this idea from the book 10 minute seasonal crafts for autumn by Annals Lim
- Make fall leaves bookmarks – I got the idea from a fellow blogger @my_superlearners. It was one of the easiest crafts to do. Pick your leaves and paste them on contact paper. Cover the other side with contact paper as well and viola! Your bookmark is ready to use.
I hope this post inspired you to do some crafts with your little ones!
I love the crafts! Specially the bonfire one and the bookmark. The I see a seed thing looks nice too.
Thank you, and all these are very low prep crafts, very simple steps to follow and there is barely any frustration on the kids part. 🙂 Certainly a win-win!
